Things to Do in Valle de Guadalupe at Christmas

A Christmas getaway to Valle de Guadalupe can start with a meal and end with hot chocolate by the fire. In between, you might fit in a wine tasting, a visit to a lavender field or a little gift shopping. Choose what matters most to the people coming with you and leave enough time to enjoy it.

If you are looking for things to do in Valle de Guadalupe at Christmas, these five ideas can help you plan a visit for the 2026–2027 season. Pick two or three, depending on availability and how your group likes to spend the day.

1. Share a meal without packing the schedule

Make a meal your meeting point and plan the rest of the day around it. If several families are coming, agree on a budget and ask the restaurant about children's options and any dietary needs.

For December 24, 25 or 31 and January 1, confirm opening hours, service and any special reservation requirements directly with the venue. Regular hours do not confirm holiday availability. Leave time for the drive if your next activity has a set arrival time.

2. Try a wine tasting

For an adults' outing, a tasting is a way to explore different styles without rushing between wineries. Aires de Lavanda offers a three-wine tasting from Rondo del Valle, with a red, a rosé and a white.

Check availability for your chosen date and arrange transportation before you set out. If someone in your group does not drink alcohol, include them in the planning so the day has something they will enjoy too.

3. Visit the lavender field during the day

For time outdoors, the Guided Lavender Field Tour introduces the field and the drying and distillation processes. Check its schedule and reservation requirements separately.

The garden changes with flowering, pruning and the weather. If you have a particular photograph in mind, ask about current conditions before planning your visit. The experience does not depend on the whole field being purple.

4. End the afternoon at Winter Lights

Winter Lights at Aires de Lavanda brings together lights, hot chocolate, s’mores and fire pits for a seasonal afternoon. Its first edition runs from November 21, 2026 to January 17, 2027, on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., local time. Check available dates when booking.

Arrive at 4:30 p.m. to see the garden change as dusk falls. The lights switch on around sunset, so keep that part of the afternoon free rather than treating it as a late-night activity.

If you would prefer a private igloo with seasonal food and drinks, Winter Picnic includes full admission to Winter Lights and must be booked in advance. Check its availability and conditions on the event page.

5. Choose a lavender gift

A small gift for the home or a personal-care routine can round out your visit. Browse Aires de Lavanda's products with the recipient's tastes in mind: hand cream, a home fragrance or a candle each offers a different way to enjoy lavender.

If you want a specific product during your visit, ask about stock. If you order online for a particular occasion, check delivery times before paying.

How to put the ideas together

  • For families: a meal, a break and Winter Lights may be plenty. Talk with the children about whether they would like to add a mini activity.
  • For couples: choose a meal or tasting as your first stop and save the end of the afternoon for the lights.
  • To explore the field: check the tour schedule first. It is a separate experience and requires a separate booking from Winter Lights.

Before leaving, check the forecast, pack warm layers and comfortable shoes, and save your directions and confirmations. It is better to leave one stop for another visit than to spend the whole afternoon watching the clock.

Start with the experience you are most looking forward to. If that means lights and fire pits, explore Winter Lights and choose an available date.
