A Christmas outing does not have to take up a whole day. A warm drink, something sweet and time to talk can be enough for an afternoon together as a family or a couple.
At Winter Lights at Aires de Lavanda, the visit centers on the garden, the lights switching on at dusk and time by the fire pits. This guide helps you plan the afternoon and understand what to check before booking.
Choose a date and keep the afternoon free
The first edition of Winter Lights runs from November 21, 2026 to January 17, 2027, on Saturdays and Sundays only, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., local time. Check available dates in the booking calendar.
If you plan to eat beforehand, leave enough time to finish and travel to the venue. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. while the daylight is changing. The lights come on at dusk, so the exact switch-on time depends on sunset.
How to spend the visit
On arrival: a drink and time to settle in
Admission includes hot chocolate, plus welcome mulled wine for adults only. Use the start of the visit to gather your group and enjoy the garden before the lights come on. If you are bringing children, agree on who will stay with them throughout the visit, especially near the fire.
At dusk: share the moment the lights come on
The illuminated garden is part of the experience. Take a few pictures, then put your phone away to spend time with the people you came with. As a couple, leave room for conversation. As a family, follow the children's pace rather than trying to turn every moment into a photograph.
Until 6:00 p.m.: something sweet by the fire pits
S’mores and fire pits are also included with admission. If someone would like an extra activity, you can decide during the visit. There is no need to fill every minute.

Questions to settle before you leave
Do I need to book an igloo to attend?
No. Winter Lights has its own admission ticket. If you would prefer a private igloo with seasonal food and drinks, Winter Picnic must be booked in advance, as a separate reservation, and already includes full admission to Winter Lights. See the Winter Picnic section for details.
What happens if my plans change or it rains?
For Winter Lights admission, you can request cancellation with a refund or a date change before 4:30 p.m. on the day of your visit, local time. Date changes depend on availability. Tickets are non-refundable from 4:30 p.m. onward. If Aires de Lavanda cancels the experience because of rain, you may receive a refund.
Read the cancellation and refund policies and use the listed contact channels to make a request. If you book Winter Picnic, also review the conditions for that reservation.
Can I combine it with other stops in the Valle?
You can plan a longer outing as long as the schedules and travel time allow you to arrive on time. Our guide to things to do in Valle de Guadalupe at Christmas has ideas for choosing a first stop.
